In a bizarre collaboration that breaks usual predictions, the game developer has unveiled an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Revealed

According to the official statement, "An unusual meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of banned ceremonies and terrifying changes echo through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret sect.

The questline centers on "bizarre tests and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses

The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a striking moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an unique katana together with several objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

This release also brings the game's latest free story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature abilities: Naoe introduces a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
