Uche Ignites Straightforward Crystal Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their maiden continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Without star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding win that all but secures them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

A further three points in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be enough to seal straight passage to the last 16, particularly after a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Moment

This occasion offered a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second game in match.

A Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season proved no match even for a largely rotated Palace outfit. The visitors were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.

A solitary concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
